I have worked in early childhood education for over 15 years in many different capacities from teacher to business owner and manager.
My Education philosophy is rooted in a deep understanding of the importance of play, wonder, and imagination in early childhood. Having worked in both Waldorf and Reggio Emilia–inspired schools, I draw inspiration from the strengths of each approach. I believe that play is the essential work of childhood.
I am committed to creating a trauma-informed, nurturing environment where children feel safe, seen, and supported. I value anti-bias education, fostering respect, empathy, and inclusion while honoring the diverse identities and experiences of our community. Through outdoor exploration, storytelling, art, and collaborative play, I strive to nurture curiosity, resilience, connection to nature, and a lifelong love of learning.
When I’m not working, I spend time with my husband, 20 year old daughter, and our menagerie of pets (2 rescue pups, 2 cats, and a rabbit!). I love playing guitar and singing, going to yoga, knitting and handwork, and long walks.

Svetlana’s experience working in childcare began in early childhood. She comes from a large family, with 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Being the second oldest child in her family, she developed a love for children and a desire to care for them. Svetlana grew up in Ukraine, where she worked with children in sunday school and participated in missionary summer camps. While in Ukraine, she obtained a certificate availble for sunday school teachers, which gave her additonal skills and knowledge about child development. When sveltana and her family moved to the United States, she volunteered at PPS head start. Svetlana is a mom to 3 girls and has been at Morning Song Playgarden since 2024
